Our Market Research Process
At Slice MR we’ve built an easy process to deliver our goal of providing superior customer service, exceptional data quality, fast turnarounds, and extensive sample reach. The series of steps is determined by whether Slice MR or our clients program the survey.
Quickly and accurately turning feasibility for clients is paramount. We ask the right questions and provide thoughtful direction to help Slice MR and our clients win projects.
We value transparency and our partners. With honest assessments we strive to provide clients the best fit within their budget.
At this stage it’s important to understand the target audience, major quotas, general timing, and estimated survey length.
With our full-service suite we go in-depth to learn your needs, whether it is open-end coding, translations, or advanced methodologies such as conjoint or MaxDiff.
Once we receive client survey drafts we do an initial consultation. Though optional, we highly recommend a kick off call with our operations team.
Listening to our clients ensures a thorough understanding of research objectives such as timing, quotas, and final deliverables.
In the “Survey Optimization” process we collaborate using an iterative process to ask pertinent questions and make suggestions.
Our team knows how to deliver speed and accuracy. First, we skill map surveys with programmers. As scripting ensues questions are tackled in real-time. Before delivering test links a multi-level review process is performed by separate Q&A and data processing teams.
On average 6 team members touch each survey, working a split day and night shift spanning 18 hours. Client communication is open 12 of these hours from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. CT. Saturday weekend coverage is available upon request.
Project managers are available throughout to consult with clients and test the survey.
Depending on survey complexity and length, this phase typically takes 2-3 days.

Pre-Launch and Client Testing
Customer satisfaction being supreme, we work through changes until clients are satisfied with the survey.
Once we receive test link sign-off, final preparations are made to launch. Within a few hours, report links are built, and logic and quotas are rechecked. This process is mission-critical before data collection.
We’ve now arrived at the respondent collection stage, otherwise known as data collection or fieldwork.
Fieldwork always starts with a soft launch, typically 10%, to ensure everything is functioning and falling out as intended. Adjustments to the program may take place before moving to full launch.
At this stage, the more visibility the better, so we always share a live report link when hosting. Clients who provide the same increase our ability to execute.
A dedicated project manager monitors quotas and sends daily sample updates. We may ask questions and appreciate quality updates from clients in order to adjust strategy.
We’re onboard until the client acknowledges all quotas are filled with quality data.
We offer a wide range of results from raw data files in Excel or SPSS to board-ready PowerPoint analysis decks.
Our statisticians and data processing teams are veterans and understand reporting from a researcher lens.
Cross-tabs or banners require a banner / tab plan from clients. Providing specs before fieldwork concludes will shorten turnaround times.
To construct cross-tabs we typically use a sophisticated tool called Quantum. Decipher, R, and SPSS stats packages are also available. Data weighting and ‘special tables’ are no problem.
Open-End Coding is conducted using a human brain. Work may begin midfield to help expedite final delivery. Coding is either folded into banners or delivered as a separate frequency report.
Advanced Statistical Analysis is performed by statisticians who work hand in hand with clients. TURF analysis, regressions, conjoint, and MaxDiff are popular techniques. We have the option of providing raw statistics or formalizing the data into key findings research reports presented in Word or PowerPoint.
Reward Processing is built-in when sampling with our panel. When clients commission us to email their database of respondents, Slice MR can process reward incentives. Tango gift cards are preferred but we’re open to talk.
